Well, we’ve been back for awhile and it’s been hard readjusting to normal life! Reality hits hard, I guess…here are a few more pics from the last few days of our trip…they aren’t in order, but I figured I should just put them up!
Isaac also went on his first amusement park ride at Sea World before we left…I thought he would be scared, but he enjoyed it!
He also enjoyed the toddler area there…I have to say, Sea World with young kids is a blast! :)
Koalas at the zoo…
Reily and the huge bird statue…
Watching the elephants…
Loving the big scary bird…
The elephant taking a bath!
Watching the dinosaur (it moved and roared) at one of the museums in Balboa Park…
Reily could make these bones move, and he thought it was the coolest thing!
Hans’ cousin John and his wife Janel had us over for dinner one night…it was wonderful, even though our kids had major melt-downs. And I mean MAJOR, it was awful! Ugh…oh well, at least it was with family, right?
Reily enjoyed hanging out with “Big” Riley (his namesake). Reily loved playing with a big boy, and kept talking about him…
Reily at another museum in Balboa Park!
At the train museum…his favorite! They had a blast, and I literally had to drag them out kicking and screaming after a few hours! (At this point, I knew they were ready to go home…living out of a hotel for 16 days is hard on anyone, and they were done at this point!)
I love this picture of Isaac! He was so cute playing with the toy trains!
That’s my boy!
Hans’ cousin John works at a state beach in San Diego and took us on a tour and up the lifeguard tower at sunset on our last night! It was AWESOME, and was definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
We got to ride in his truck around the beach, and then he showed the boys the lights on his truck! Instant happiness for the kids!
We took a harbor cruise on our last day and had a blast seeing San Diego from the water!
Big Sailor!
Sea Lions!
My angels…
Kissing under the Coronado Bridge…
Family photo with the city behind us…
We drove straight home from San Diego…we left about 4 PM, and the boys napped for the first few hours. Then we stopped for a picnic and let the boys play at a park for about 1.5 hours. Then we piled back in the car, and they fell asleep shortly and slept all night while Hans and I switched off driving! We arrived home about 11 AM the next morning, and it was AWESOME!
I LOVE driving through the night…it makes the trip so much less stressful, and so much more enjoyable!
I look forward to many more wonderful family trips in the future…this is one we will never forget!
