I took Reily to the doctor yesterday for his 15 month check up and shots. We're worried that he may have developed a soy allergy in addition to milk, eggs, nuts and animals. They drew more blood to test his allergies again and set us up with a referral to Children's Hospital to talk to a nutritionist so we can make sure he gets enough healthy foods and fats in his diet. Ugh! Apparently we can give him rice milk, but that has hardly any nutrition in it, so we have to make it up...luckily, he did put on a little more than a pound in the last three months, but he didn't grow height-wise. The doc said not to worry because different nurses measure height in different ways, and he's still measuring in the 50th percentile...but of course, I'm still worrying. I sure hope the new baby doesn't have any allergy issues!
The only other news is that I am re-entering the working world! A friend of ours from church is one of the VPs at a Christian missions organization called World Orphans, and he called me out of the blue a few weeks ago. He knows I have a financial background, and asked if I would be interested in a part time position doing the finances and bookkeeping for them! I was a little surprised since I hadn't really been thinking about working again...but it was amazing how it all worked out so perfectly! They are moving their office to Castle Rock, and need someone 10 hours per week...Ellen has amazingly offered to watch Reily for half a day a week, and Hans gets every other Friday off now, so he'll watch Reily for a few hours on that day...and on the week he doesn't have off, I'll do my other 5 hours from home! I'm really excited because I've always wanted to work with a missions organization, I love all of the people, and they are being so flexible with me! Plus, I think it will be nice to "use my brain" again, and have a little time away from the kiddos while getting paid to use my gifts! I'll start next week, and we'll see how it goes...but I'm really happy how everything worked out and how God obviously worked out all of the details!

I didn't know Riley had those allergies. What a bummer. But soy isn't that big a deal to avoid. And congrats on the new job.
What good news on the job! Sorry to hear about the allergies. Here's hoping he can grow out of them.
