Happy 3rd Birthday, Reily!

Three years ago this morning, our busy little bundle of joy arrived!  Hard to believe it’s been three years, but even harder to think about how quickly the next 15 years will go!

Reily is such a joy to us…I’ve learned more about love, life, perseverance and passion in the last three years than in my whole 23 years prior to his birth.  He stretches me to become a better mom, and a better person…he takes me out of my comfort zone and helps me experience new things that I never would if I didn’t have such a social and active little boy!  He is truly challenging us to meet the goal of training up a child in the way he should go, so that when he’s older he will not turn from it.

At three years old, Reily:

  • LOVES BASEBALL!  And playing outside in the back yard…and going to parks, the zoo, museums, and playing with friends.
  • Wakes up in the morning and bangs on his door until we let him out, and wants to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie first thing. (Which Mommy loves because I can keep snoozing!)
  • Can’t wait to get his little brother when he wakes up in the morning or wakes up from a nap.  Reily always wants to give him a hug and a kiss.
  • Still throws a good tantrum!  Luckily these are rare, but boy, when he gets going, he gets going!!
  • Is learning to play nicely with his little brother, and cheers for Isaac when he does something well: “Good throw, brother!”
  • Is excited to go into the big kids class at church.  We practiced last week so he’d be prepared this week.  He did a good job sitting in the service, but wanted to wave and say hi to all of his friends, like our worship pastor as he sang on stage.

I am so grateful that God is allowing me to raise this precious little boy…

It just melts my heart when Reily asks me "Play baseball with me, Grandpa Lee". Of course, I can't refuse. I will remember that request until the day I die.
