What were my boys for Halloween this year, you ask? I don’t really know…
I don’t really know because: 1) I lost count. That’s the problem with hand-me-down costumes, garage sale costumes, Grandma’s who bring costumes, and random costumes given as birthday gifts; and 2) I wasn’t around much that weekend. I ran a fundraiser for my MOPS group which was actually tons of fun, with the slight downside that I missed a lot of activities and fun times with the boys. :(
But it’s okay…although I am a big “tradition” person, Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday…I enjoy seeing the kiddos dressed up, and enjoy the community feel around our neighborhood and trick-or-treating with our neighbors, but other than that…not so much.
Reily, Costume #1: Buzz Lightyear (Random Birthday Gift). He wore it for all of 5 minutes.
Reily, Costume #2—Elephant (from Grandma)
Isaac, Costume #1—Cheetah (hand-me-down from Reily last year)
Isaac the Cheetah
Rei the Elephant!
Our town has a big event downtown where the kids get to go from store-to-store getting candy…it’s been our tradition to go the past few years. Their favorite was the fire station!
Daddy and his boys…
They met up with John, Anna and Amelia there, too!
The next day they went to the Denver Zoo for Boo at the Zoo…another tradition we’ve done the past few years.
“Who’s the Real Elephant?” Could also be titled “I think I’m getting a cavity! Can I have another piece of candy??”
I just love him so!
Also on that day, the boys went to the Meadows Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch…another traditional event that we always go to…
Isaac, Costume #2—Dinosaur (Hand-me-down costume from a neighbor)
Reily, Costume #3—Dragon (Garage sale costume)
The boys came to church to visit me during the fundraiser—our church also happens to be at the Castle Rock Outlet Mall, which was having a Trick-Or-Treat Off the Street event…
So they showed me all of their candy!
The next night…Halloween Night…getting ready to go the houses in the neighborhood!
I love my boys!!
What’d’ya’get?
Kisses for the camera!
And Grandpa Lee came over to see the boys too!
Hans and the boys were exhausted after their extremely busy days, and I was exhausted after my extremely long days at the fundraiser…but we ate some chocolate and recovered! :) And then sent almost all of the candy to Hans’ work…and the boys didn’t mind very much at all! (Really!)
