This was the start of something I just read. I thought it was interesting and thought I would try it…
Looking up from my computer right now…
I see a pile of checks that I need to put in the mail for work. I see my make-shift work-from-home office—a plastic file box with all of my papers. I see an empty coffee cup that had my cappuccino in it until a 3 year old who will remain nameless drank the rest of it. I see a white board that is covered in red and black scribbles from last week that I really need to wipe off unless I want them to remain on there forever.
I see two little boys playing with their train table. I see the black sharpie marks on that table that Isaac so joyfully drew yesterday. Sigh. I also smell a distinct odor from Isaac’s diaper…surprisingly, he’s not asking to be changed…normally he asks right away!
I see a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure that my MOPS moms gave me for coordinating the group this year. I see our tickets to the U2 concert for next weekend. I see a pile of papers I really should go through and file…make that two big piles of papers…
I see the black and white photos on the walls that Hans took in his photography class in college. I see rows and rows of classic books on our 4 bookshelves that I’m hoping I’ll have the chance to read again one day…
I see the boys’ art supplies and “school” items for when we work on preschool. It reminds me that I really need to keep working with Reily on his writing…he just likes to scribble. I see the posters with letters and numbers, their sticker boxes, and the big basket of random toys in the corner.
I see the photos of the loved ones we’ve lost over the years and enjoy seeing them every day…my mom, Hans’ grandma, my step sister, Amy. Also a picture of Hans and I from our junior year high school Homecoming—the night of our first kiss. We look so young and skinny! :)
I see snow falling outside the window, we have about 3 inches of snow now. Yes, it is May 12. Yes, we just planted all of our flowers this weekend, when it was 90 degrees and I got a sunburn. Yes, we just turned on our sprinklers. Crazy Colorado!
This is our office/playroom, and we spend quite a bit of time here. As you can tell, it holds all sorts of things and could probably use a good de-cluttering!

I liked this post :) Life is good, even when it's crazy with kids, isn't it?
