36 Week Ultrasound

The pictures didn't turn out that great since baby had his hands in front of his face...but you can still see some cute, chubby cheeks!

We went for our growth ultrasound today at 36 weeks and 2 days to check on the baby's size and determine a plan of action...and the doctor had good news! Although the baby's head and shoulders are measuring big (at about 37 weeks, 4 days), they are proportional--meaning the shoulders aren't overly large for the size of the head.

What's that mean? If the head will fit through my pelvis, there's a good chance the shoulders will too!! So, the doctor recommended that we wait on this baby to make his grand appearance and not schedule a c-section! Hooray!

Of course, I'm still at an increased risk of having shoulder dystocia again...but if the baby truly is too big, we'll be able to have a c-section before it gets to the point where it's too late for a c-section and shoulder dystocia is the result. I'm just so glad to have the option...

Oh yeah, and baby's estimated weight right now is 6lbs 8 oz...so if he puts on the average 1/2 pound per week, he'll be about 8lbs 8 oz when he's born...not too big at all! :) Plus, they're just estimates!

So cute! I'm absolutely amazed by that 4D technology. It's so surreal to be bonding with your child before they're born. Also, we're praying for you in regards to the dystocia. We're so glad to hear that you might be able to avoid a C-section, and we're praying over the whole situation. Can't wait to see pics of the newest Robinson!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I am so glad you get to at least try naturally! I'm guessing your body will remember what to do and baby boy will just pop right out! Ok, so you may have to push once or twice!!
