We went up to Glenwood Springs for the long weekend to celebrate our birthdays, and had a wonderful, relaxing time! The fall colors were bright and the weather was pretty nice considering it's October! The day we hiked Hanging Lake was the coldest day, so we're all bundled up...
Lee and Ellen came with us on the trip, which was a lot of fun! And they were great babysitters so Hans and I could go out to dinner and to the hot springs without the kiddos...thanks, guys!!
Reily loved all of the waterfalls on the hike!
I had lots of time to stop and take in the view (and catch my breath)...I haven't done this hike since we had kids and boy could I tell I'm out of shape!
Carrying Isaac in the Bjorn didn't help...
But at least I didn't have Reily in the hiking backpack--Hanzy, you're amazing!
Whew! Made it to the top!! (Please note that in all of these pictures the terrain looks super easy...that's only because these were the only places on the trail that we could take pictures, since the rest of it was more like rock climbing straight up the mountain--no joke!)
The view at the top...
Isaac catching his breath with Grandma and Grandpa at the top.
By the time we made it to the top, Reily was sleeping in his backpack...
But then he woke up! I love this picture of all of my boys...
Family picture at the lake...
Family picture by a waterfall...
Reily even got to see a train in the canyon when we were back down the mountain! And look at the walking stick he found!
Relaxing at the hot springs pool...Reily LOVED jumping into the water, over and over and over again. He's becoming quite the little fish!

Hans came home from work sick yesterday, so we're hoping he bounces back quickly and the boys and I don't get sick! Hoping to do some fun fall activities this weekend since the weather is supposed to be in the 70's. I need to get out of the house...it was a long week!
