We had a fun time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and our Irish heritage!! We go dressed up and ready to go to Denver for the huge St. Patty’s Day Parade!
Silly Reily!
Hans is an honorary Irishman on St. Patrick’s Day!
Bella is our Irishcat!
Enjoying the parade!
And eating yummy street vendor hot dogs!
I think the boys’ favorite part was riding the light rail train downtown! (And sneaking drinks of our Starbucks!) :)
And of course we had to have corned beef and cabbage!
And green mint drumsticks!! :)
I love our traditions, and St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorites…hopefully the boys will remember these outings fondly one day…and even though they look Swedish, I’ll make sure they remember their Irish roots too! :)

Hans is more than an honorary Irishman. He is 25% Irish by blood. Don't let Grandma Ellen's rabid Swedishness overwhelm you. Of course, what really is Irish? Ireland was a Viking kingdom 1000 years ago. And the country was basically Protestant through the middle ages, having little to do with Rome. It didn't turn Catholic until Britain became Protestant, just to spite the Brits. So there is the answer to what is Irish - an independent spirit.
