Well, my pregnancy brain and some bad luck worked against me today...I took Reily to Little Monkey Bizness (an indoor play area for babies and toddlers) this afternoon, and while I was taking him out of the car seat, I thought I smelled a dirty diaper. So, I took him out of the car and lifted him up to smell him and at that moment, a huge gust of wind blew the car door shut! Of course, the car was locked, and inside was my purse, cell phone, money, Reily's diaper bag, sippy cup, snacks...etc. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
It was soooo windy today, and in the two seconds it took to lift Reily out of the car and check his diaper, the wind was strong enough to close the door. I went inside, explained the situation, and called Hans' mom on their phone, since she was only about 5 minutes away...luckily she was home and was able to come by and pay for Reily to play while we figured out what to do. THANK YOU ELLEN!!! I ended up having Hans call Triple A for me (second time in 2 weeks...), it wasn't worth it to have him come up since he was 2 hours away in Colorado Springs, and I was up in South Denver. The guy showed up in about 20 minutes...so it ended up not being that big of a deal...but still...it was so frustrating!
I am amazed by how often God humbles me and reminds me that he is in control and I am not. I am so grateful for how he takes care of me...I have so many moments that seem horrible at the time, and then I think about how much worse it could have been...like if Reily had still been in the car, or if the new baby had been in the car, or if Ellen hadn't been home, or if Hans hadn't answered his phone, or if ...well, you get the picture.
Anyway, here are some pics from Little Monkey Bizness...Reily has such a good time!

You. are. hilarious. We loved reading that little story. And Reily is as adorable as ever.
That could have been really scary! I'm so glad you guys were ok! But pregnancy brain just turns into mom-nesia after the baby is born, so enjoy the loss of brain cells for a while!
Wow, I'm really glad Reily was out of the car! And that things worked out quickly and smoothly. You are right, a lot of things could have gone a lot worse. Don't you hate being humbled sometimes though? :) No, I know it is a good thing. We need to remember who is really in control of the big picture.
How adorable is Reily?! So cute!
