Valentine's Day and Babies!

We had a very nice Valentine's Day...here is a picture of Reily in his V-Day outfit. You can't read it, but the shirt says "Mommy's Little Sweet Heart," so true! :) We were recovering from a youth group lock-in the night before, where Hans went from 8 PM to 2 AM, and then came home and I went from 2 AM to 8 AM...it worked out really well. But we were both still really tired on Valentine's morning!

We actually went out on Valentine's Day evening for the first time ever--literally, in the 9 Valentine's Days that we've been togethre, we've never done anything on V-day because Hans thinks it's a ridiculous holiday and we should show our love to others every day. I agree...but still, any excuse to get chocolate...

Anyway, Hans' parents offered to watch Reily, so of course we said yes and went out and had a nice dinner, got my favorite frozen custard, and went shopping for an outfit for the baby to wear home from the hospital. All in all, it was a fun day!

We have also really enjoyed dog-sitting for our friends who just had a baby. Dudley the Dog stayed with us for the weekend, and Reily LOVED it! He would run around saying woof-woof, and jump up and down in his crib with excitement when we would come in to get him with the dog. The cutest part was when he kept trying to feed Dudley's food to him like he was in a petting zoo...luckily Dudley ate it right out of his hand and they both seemed to enjoy it!

Reily's allergies weren't terrible--he only had a minor reaction on one day, but he's definitely allergic to dogs, so I don't think we'll be getting one any time soon!

We took Dudley home tonight, and got to meet baby Ryland, who is SO SWEET and absolutely adorable...I forgot how small and delicate and precious newborns are...I can't believe we'll have one in 10 weeks! Reily just kept saying "Baby" over and over, and did really well with him, so hopefully that's a good sign for things to come with his little brother!

Reily enjoyed playing with Ryland's big sis, Adelyn--she kept trying to hold his hand, and I think this picture looks like he's proposing! You never know...in 20 years, it could happen!
