Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween this year…it was on a Monday, so Hans was at work most of the day, but Isaac took an early nap so we went to downtown Castle Rock and visited the local businesses and gathered treats…

Unfortunately, I was low on candy at home because someone (couldn’t have been me!!) had been sneaking a few pieces of candy a day leading up to Halloween, so when I went to see how much we had, we were pretty low!  Our street/neighbors are VERY serious about Halloween…tons and tons and tons of kids!  It’s always so much fun, the neighbors come out and sit on their porches, etc…

This year Isaac was a frog…

And Reily was Spiderman!  I just have to tell my costume story really fast…he got the cape and mask for his birthday, so I figured we’d just get him the body suit and he’d have a complete costume!  We found one in his size at Kohl’s and bought it for $15…a killer for me since I’m the cheapest person in the world and I know he would only wear it once!  But alas, he really wanted to be Spiderman, so we bought it and I said I’d keep my eye open for one at a garage sale.  Literally the week before Halloween (when most of the garage sales were over), we stopped by one that had a Spiderman costume in his size for 25 cents!  I sewed up a little hole on a seam, and it was as good as new…we returned the unopened, new one, and I was one happy mama!  And isn’t he an awesome Spiderman??

Love these two!

Just being silly!

Once Daddy got home from work, we went out around the neighborhood…I put out a big bowl full of candy and a sign that said we were out trick or treating…when I got back with Isaac (who didn’t last very long and wanted to go home…), there were only a few suckers left!  I thought someone had just taken the whole bowl, but there were just a ton of trick-or-treaters!

Waiting for more trick-or-treaters to come by our house…the boys liked giving candy/seeing the costumes almost as much as getting the candy themselves!

Bucket filled to the brim!

Super fun Halloween…and then Hans hid the candy from all three of us!  Oh well…I know it’s for our own good! ;)
