Beauvoir

On Friday we went to Beauvoir--the last home of Jefferson Davis and a monument to the Confederate. (You can definitely tell we're in the deep South!)

The house is in Biloxi, just down the road from the base, and it was heavily damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The last time Hans was here, it looked like just another ruin on the waterfront. Over the last few years, they've put a lot of time and money into rebuilding it, and it just opened for tours this month!


You can kind of tell how much damage the building sustained from this photo of the Before and After Hurricane Katrina photos. Sorry there's a lot of glare on the pictures. The picture on top was after the storm, and on the bottom is before the storm.
