We spent 11 days in California a few weeks ago, and I’m just now (or already?) able to blog about it! :)
I was pretty nervous about the plane…it was the first time we all needed tickets, so we decided to bring Isaac’s car seat to strap him into. It kept him restrained for most of the trip, which was great…
Hans and I tag-teamed with Grandma and Grandpa, and once we added in amazingly delicious treats that we never buy like fruit roll-ups and those crackers that you dip into the fake cheese—they were happy campers! Praise the Lord! Of course, once we got to California they turned into fit-throwing little 2 and 3 year old monsters, but hey—they were angels on the plane!! :)
The first day we went to Happy Hollow with Hans’ cousins and their families—what a blast!! I failed to take a good picture of all of us, sigh. Here’s Reily climbing a tree…
Cousin Ryan helping David across the pond…
Looking at the animals!
Riding the train with Ryan & Isabel, with cousins George, David and Charlie…our boys ADORED George, David and Charlie (or Cha-Cha as Isaac calls her)! It was so wonderful to see them get to know each other and play together—I just wish we lived closer!
There are a ton of little amusement rides the boys loved!
Isaac is finally getting old enough to enjoy them! He had a blast, and it was so great that he wasn’t terrified the whole time and didn’t need Mommy right there with him! Woo hoo!
Of course for dinner that night we had to go down to the Santa Cruz wharf for dinner with Hans’ Grandpa Bob—Or “Jo Jo Bob” as our boys came to call him. We feasted on clam chowder and had a great time…
Group shot…
Trying to get the boys to smile!
Family photo—including Reily’s giraffe that came EVERYWHERE with us!
I’ll continue posting more pictures of the trip soon…but shorter posts are more manageable for me! And I figure they’re easier to read, too, right? If anyone out there even reads this blog any more?
