We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on June 10th…it was my year to plan, and I had a babysitter lined up, reservations made, and a wonderful day planned…
And then we woke up to a puking child. I seriously considered not telling the babysitter and just going on with our plans…but of course that thought only lasted a few seconds and we cancelled all of our plans for the day and stayed home with our little ones…
We had just gotten a knight costume, so that provided plenty of entertainment!
By the evening they were feeling okay and we’d taken Isaac to the doctor to get him on some antibiotics for an ear infection (turns out he just puked because he was coughing so hard…)
So, we decided to take some pictures in the backyard! We also had family pictures scheduled that night with a professional photographer, so we cancelled those and plan to reschedule sometime later this year…since she’s booked for months. :(
He sure loves his Daddy!
The best family shot…notice the forced smiles. Maybe it’s a good thing we didn’t shell out a ton of money for pictures of a 2 and 3 year old! :)
We’ve now been married longer than we dated…crazy! Dating 6 years felt like forever. 6 years of marriage have flown by!

While it wasn’t the anniversary we planned for, we had a good day with our family! I guess when you’re married and have young kids, you’re more likely to spend your anniversary cleaning up vomit and going to the doctor’s office than having a nice meal and spending time alone…c’est la vie and we love it!
