A few weekends ago we went up to the mountains to have a picnic and do some hiking on my Grandpa’s property…the fall colors were so pretty!
The boys were happy since we let them have suckers on our hike…Isaac was trying to share with the baby…or hold on to me so he didn’t fall…not sure which!
Daddy love…
Enjoying our picnic with NO ONE around…it was so wonderful to get away and have the only sound we heard be the sound of the water in the creek…
The boys LOVED the sticks and stones and dirt…they spent about an hour just playing with sticks and hitting them into smaller pieces…and I loved letting them play and be boys and not worry about them hurting someone else or getting looks from other parents for letting them be loud and destructive… :)
A BIG ONE!
What, a picture of just us? It’s true!
Isaac enjoys showing his belly…not sure why.
The view from our blanket…
Little Tree Huggers…
Cuddling on Daddy…
Tried for a family photo…Reily was being a stinker and kept his eyes closed on purpose because he wanted to go play and not be forced to take a picture…
Hiking back to the car…
There was a lone sunflower on the way to the car…it was so beautiful with the trees in the background!
We got to see some of the work they’ve done on the land…they have a big sign about the foundation that helped clean up the old mines, and right there was my family! It was so great to go up to their land and enjoy it with the boys…
We decided to see where the road led us instead of going back the other way…and the road got pretty rough!! Of course we were in our brand new mini van and I just knew we were tearing it up, so I made Hans turn around…this is where we turned around…the picture does NOT do justice to the beauty of the leaves.
When we got down to town, we went to Georgetown and met Hans’ parents for a bit to walk around a Fall Aspen Festival, and then we went to Beau Jo’s for pizza!
The boys love the little park in Idaho Springs, so of course we had to stop there! Here they are playing in the bus…
What a fun day…we all had a blast and can’t wait to do it again next summer!
