We had a wonderful Fourth of July, starting with a service in Cathedral Grove, an outdoor worship area in the middle of huge Redwood trees…it’s gorgeous, and of course I forgot my camera every single time we went there. Oh well…
Then we came up to Hans’ Aunt Jeannie’s house to an amazing picnic. Ellen’s friends the Jardine’s visited, and the boys enjoyed some good time with their aunts, uncles and cousins!!
The group getting ready to watch the Mountain Goat Run!
Aunt Jeannie and all the wonderful food! Yummy!
Isaac is his favorite spot—with Uncle Hans-Erik and cousin George! (Notice the boys and their orange hands, thanks to Doritos!)
Hans running the race…he came in 8th, I think…pretty good for being out of shape! :)
Grandpa Lee did pretty well too!
Chips and dress up—now that’s a recipe for fun!
The boys really liked these beaded necklaces!
Putting on sunscreen before the carnival!!
Walking down the hills to the carnival…the hills in Mission Springs are SO steep…this picture hardly does it justice, but I had to use my entire body weight just to keep the stroller for running off down the hill! Isaac’s crying because Hans usually pulled the stroller and I held his hand because he was scared!
At the carnival—so much fun!
Reily going down the bouncy house!
Playing games…
If I had to pick one picture from our trip to describe the entire vacation, I would probably pick this picture. No joke…not the nice family picture of us on the beach, or laughing with extended family, or playing with cousins. Overall the trip was more like the following picture: Too much sugar and LOTS of tantrums.
Someone made fun of me for letting him throw his tantrum and taking a picture of it, but it captures the moment! :)
He’s happy again…back with Hans-Erik and George…with more cotton candy!
Isaac watching the parade with Daddy!
Grandma Ellen and Aunt Judy!
I just like this picture since it’s so cute of Hans-Erik and Krista, and Isaac is showing me his pirate eye patch and is so thrilled with himself!
The 3’s and 4’s float—Reily’s in the middle with a green hat on, not looking at the camera…cousins David and George are in there too! It was so wonderful to have a program for them—he learned so much and the teachers were wonderful!
Family watching the parade…
Later in the afternoon, helping Jo Jo Bob feed the birds…
The view from Jo Jo Bob’s house…beautiful! We didn’t take any pictures of the fireworks that night, but we watched them from the porch and this view…they were right in town (in the middle of these trees), and they were great…the boys were thrilled! I’ll always remember Reily squealing in delight…
