Exploring San Diego

We love San Diego—it’s one of the cities on our short list of places we would ever want to live…if we ever were to leave Colorado!  The trip has been great so far…Hans is in class from 8 to 5 every day during the week, but doesn’t have much to do outside of class, so we have the evenings to spend together.

His class is at Point Loma Navy Base, and the area is gorgeous…our hotel is about 5 minutes away from the base, so the boys and I wake up in the morning and drive him to class by about 7:45, and come back and eat breakfast and get ready for our day.  The first day we were here, we drove around the area, stopped at a playground in Balboa Park, and watched the ships in the harbor.  That night after we picked Hans up, we went out to the fishing pier to watch the sunset…

The boys liked seeing the fish that everyone was catching…it was nice because it wasn’t very touristy—it really was a fishing pier—and we had a good time seeing the kids that were there with their parents catching dinner!

Reily loved playing in the waves and watching the surfers!  009

If you think you notice an exploded diaper in this picture—you’re right.  But, we left the diaper bag in the car and couldn’t do anything about it!  The boys have both had upset tummies (maybe because we’ve been eating is food from restaurants!), but they’re doing okay now…

Maybe one day our boys will be surfers, too!033
