Hike in Chatfield State Park

We got an annual state parks pass for the first time this year, and haven’t used it very much, so we had a rare free morning and decided to go up to Chatfield State Park with the boys…

The boys love spending time with Daddy!!

In our double jogging stroller by the river…the mosquitoes were eating us alive!  After about 5 minutes, I was ready to leave…it was horrible!  I got bitten a ton (always have had ‘sweet’ blood…) and one of them on the back of my leg got very swollen and huge, and hurt for a week…luckily the boys didn’t seem to get bit very much (I used all of our bug spray on them, and ran out when it got to me!)

We also got a flat tire on our stroller…ran over a thorn just the wrong way.  So, for our effort to commune with nature, we spent 20 minutes hiking, got a flat tire, countless bug bites, and an allergic reaction that hurt for a week.  Hmm…still had a great time with the family, though!
